ToneLatch Privacy Policy

ToneLatch is designed as a local-first desktop app. This page explains what the app stores locally and what website or payment interactions may involve third-party services.

Last updated: March 13, 2026

1. Local-first image processing

ToneLatch is designed to process supported image files locally on your computer. The normal desktop workflow does not upload photo content for RAW decoding, gain-map generation, or Ultra HDR export.

2. Data stored locally

The app may store local settings and workflow state on your device, including:

  • last used folder and output settings
  • HDR strength preferences
  • whether certain warnings should be shown again
  • trial and future license state once commercial activation is enabled

3. Files you choose to process

When you choose a folder or image pair, the app reads those files locally to match RAW and JPEG pairs, generate an HDR gain map, and write the output JPEG to the selected destination. Original source files are not intentionally overwritten by the normal workflow.

4. Network activity

The current desktop build does not require a cloud account to process images. If licensing, update checks, payments, or support flows are enabled, the app may contact those services and this policy will be updated to reflect that.

5. Payment processing and Paddle

ToneLatch purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), which acts as the Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, Paddle collects payment details, billing address, and transaction information directly. Logic & Light does not store your payment card details. Paddle's handling of your data is governed by Paddle's Privacy Policy.

6. Website, checkout, and support interactions

If you contact Logic & Light by email or use the website, checkout page, or support form, that interaction may be handled by third-party services such as hosting, payment, or email providers. Those services may have their own privacy policies.

7. Analytics

The ToneLatch website currently uses Google Analytics to understand page visits, referral sources, and basic site usage. This analytics does not include your photo content. The current desktop app does not upload image-processing telemetry for the images you process locally.

8. Your responsibility

You are responsible for the files you choose to process, store, and export, including any personal data contained inside image metadata.
