ToneLatch Terms of Service

1. About Logic & Light

ToneLatch is developed and published by Logic & Light. Logic & Light is the publisher name used for ToneLatch. References to Logic & Light in these terms mean the ToneLatch publisher and, where applicable, the proprietor doing business under that name.

These terms govern your use of ToneLatch and form a legal agreement between you and Logic & Light.

2. License to use the app

Mac App Store distribution is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (LAEULA) plus these supplemental Logic & Light app terms. Logic & Light grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ToneLatch for lawful personal or business photography workflows.

3. What the app is for

ToneLatch is a desktop utility for converting supported RAW plus JPEG pairs into Ultra HDR or Native HDR outputs while preserving the source JPEG as the base image. The source JPEG may be a straight-out-of-camera JPEG, film simulation JPEG, or a carefully edited JPEG. ToneLatch is not a general-purpose photo editor, archival system, or cloud service.

4. Restrictions

• You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app unless explicitly permitted.
• You may not remove copyright or license notices.
• You may not use the app in a way that violates law or third-party rights.
• You may not misrepresent the app as affiliated with or endorsed by camera makers, software vendors, or platform owners.
• You may not reverse engineer the app beyond what is permitted by applicable law.

5. Your files and output

You remain responsible for the files you process and the outputs you export, including copyright, privacy, metadata, delivery, and compatibility choices for your workflow.

You are responsible for keeping backups of your source files and exported files. ToneLatch is designed not to overwrite original source JPEGs in the normal workflow, but you should verify output locations and keep independent backups before processing important files.

6. HDR compatibility

HDR rendering depends on the viewer, operating system, device, and display. Unsupported viewers may show only the standard SDR JPEG fallback. You are responsible for checking exported files in the viewing or delivery path you intend to use.

7. Mac App Store distribution

ToneLatch is distributed through the Mac App Store. All purchases, downloads, updates, and refund requests are handled by Apple. By purchasing through the App Store, you also agree to Apple's terms of service.

8. Refunds

App Store purchases may be eligible for a refund through Apple. Refund requests should be submitted through Apple's Report a Problem flow at reportaproblem.apple.com.

9. Support and maintenance

Support is available by email at support@logic-and-light.com. Logic & Light may provide bug fixes, compatibility updates, or feature updates from time to time, but updates, maintenance, response times, and ongoing support are not guaranteed except to the extent required by applicable law.

10. No affiliation

ToneLatch is an independent product by Logic & Light. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Fujifilm, Ricoh, Google, Apple, Adobe, Leica, or other camera, software, or platform brands referenced for compatibility purposes.

11. Warranty disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Logic & Light is not liable for lost profits, lost files, lost data, business interruption, or consequential damages arising from use of the app or exported files.

Where legally permitted, Logic & Light's total liability for any claim related to ToneLatch, these terms, or exported files will not exceed the amount you paid to purchase the app giving rise to the claim.

13. Governing law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Ontario will have jurisdiction over disputes related to these terms, except where consumer protection law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these terms

Logic & Light may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
